SIDE NOTE–THIS POST HAS BEEN IS DRAFT FORM FOR MORE THAN A WEEK. “UNCLE BOB” CONTINUES TO STRUGGLE THROUGH A BUNCH OF CRAP BESIDES HIS POOR HEALTH. THE LITTLE HUMOR IN THIS HAS BECOME A SAD, SAD COMMENTARY OF THE DEMISE OF THE HEALTH CARE SYSTEM. BLOGGING ON THIS ALONE COULD BECOME A DAILY ASSIGNMENT.

The saga continues in planet Medical Care with Uncle Bob. Planet medical care has outlawed common sense and commands lemmings to operate all daily tasks.

After a lengthy stay in hospital, I don’t see much change in Uncle Bob’s health. Uncle Bob is informed he needs to go to rehab for 4-7 days to regain his strength. This for a change, makes some sense to me. He is informed the rehab facility on a different wing of the hospital has an opening and he is headed there ASAP, but wait…. there is a change. The medical staff has decided he is headed home NOW. I need to come pick him up NOW !

I go to pick up Uncle Bob and he looks like hell. Very weak and no color. I have to go retrieve the wheelchair as I am informed because the aid didn’t bring her coat and it is too cold for her to go outside. With a lot of struggle I load Unc in the car. No wheelchair, walker or cane. He is on his own.

We get Uncle Bob home and settled and off I go. I don’t know how he will get by but I’m told a home health care nurse will be by to save the day real soon. (shades of Mighty Mouse ?)

Three days go by and I can’t contact my Uncle. He won’t answer phone calls (not unusual) or answer the door as I stop by. Finally I get a funny feeling and ask the police to check on him. It’s 9PM Saturday night and I figure if I do drive cross town and start looking in windows with a flashlight they will be there anyhow !

Twenty minutes after my call to the police, they call back and tell me they found a “body” on the floor of the living room. I ask if it is an alive or deceased body and the police tell me they can’t tell me. They do tell me the local hospital they took the “body” to.

My wife calls the hospital for me and they will tell her nothing. I must show in person at the hospital and then they will tell me how Unc is or is not..

At midnight I arrive at the hospital and you won’t believe what happend next….
